If you would like to submit an event to be posted on the LCPS Master Calendar, navigate to our online forms page where you will find a link that can be used to make your submission, or use our quick links to the left to make your submission.

Operation Preparation

Parents play a vital role in their student becoming college/career ready. If you have an 8th- or 10th-grade student, please encourage their participation in Operation Preparation.

If you have a middle or high school student, help them in the development of their Individual Learning Plan -- an online tool designed to allow students to explore careers, track coursework and activities, and search for postsecondary options. It is mandatory for students in 6-12 grade and parents are required to sign off on a student’s Individual Learning Plan each year. Login credentials are available from the child’s school.

Parents should also consider becoming a community advisor for Operation Preparation. You could make the difference in the life of child – your own AND another! Contact your school’s FRYSC Coordinator to sign up or visit www.operationpreparation.com for more information.

Parent Request of Information Regarding Childrens' Teachers

Parents of students attending any elementary school in Letcher County can request the following information regarding instructional staff who work with their children:

· Whether or not the child’s teacher has met state certification for the grades and subjects the teacher is teaching.
· Whether or not the teacher is working with an emergency or conditional certificate where state certification criteria has been waived.
· The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held, including field of discipline of the certificate or degree.
· If the child receives instructional services from a paraprofessional(s), the paraprofessional’s qualifications.
